The Atlanta Falcons weren't even finished piling up takeaways, yards and points in Sunday's 45-10 rout of the 49ers at Candlestick Park when San Francisco coach Mike Singletary lost his sideline poise. Rather than take out his frustrations on one of his underachieving players, Singletary instead engaged in a third-quarter shouting match with Falcons right guard Harvey Dahl. "I'll put it this way: I wish I had more coaching etiquette. I don't," said Singletary, an emotional coach who was remarkably composed after watching his much-improved team stumble so badly at home. "I love my players and when someone responds about my players in a particular way, I may do some things I shouldn't do. I have to get better at those things as time goes on. I don't even want to talk about it anymore." Source: NFLFanhouse
so Dahl was bagging on the niners players and Singletary came to their defense? I don't have a problem with a coach doing that.
There's more than a little Buddy Ryan/Mike Ditka in Singletary. He's just the more polished version cuz he takes himself to task also...
I like coaches with a temper. Coaches in the NFL need a little more fire. Singletary should be looking out for his players no matter who is talking crap about them. Thats his job..lead from the front Mike and take crap from noone!!
Mike has a strong sense of pride and righfully so. He's a proud man and I can fully understand this plus he has the decency to admit his brashness.
Not as good as Mike Smith and Antonio Bryant last year Dahl got under a lot of San Frans players skins
