ESPN Insider Adam Schefter is reporting that Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was fined $20,000 by the NFL for verbally abusing an official during the Arizona Cardinals game. "Filed to ESPN: As if last night weren't bad enough, Jay Cutler fined $20,000 for abusive conduct to an official last week vs. Arizona." Source: Adam Schefter
WTF? I figure Jay would get fined for this but not 20K. There should be a price put on Goodells head. LOL
These fines are getting silly, every week there's like 5+ guys forking over 10k+ and I can't recall ever being told where all this fine money is going. Seriously turning me off the league how pussified Goodell is making it.
Cutler sent the check by FedEx, but it was intercepted by UPS. Seriously, these fines are rediculous. :icon_frown:
Player fines collected by the league are used to support retired player programs, including the NFL Players Association's Players Assistance Trust, disaster relief initiatives and other charities supporting youth, education and sports-related medical research. 1. Anybody know what the "abusive conduct" was? 2. Anybody know what the running total is for fines levied by the NFL this season?
