Now that the off-season moves are complete, for the most part, it’s time to start looking ahead to the football season. It’s not far away and we will be playing some real football soon.

So, what might happen? Do the Saints have a chance to repeat? Will the Colts continue their 12-wins streak? Are the Patriots done or do they have another year? What’s going to happen in the NFC East with all 4 teams supposedly looking good?

It might be fun to start doing some predicted finishes in the divisions and explain why. * is possible wild card team.

    AFC East

    1. DOLPHINS – They may finally have their roster in place
    2. PATRIOTS – Going downhill
    3. JETS – I may be premature predicting implosion but I’m going for it
    4. BILLS – Things aren’t looking good for them for a long time

    AFC North

    1. STEELERS – This is obviously assuming they rally behind each other with everything that has happened
    2. RAVENS * – They’re going to remain competitive but I’m just not sure what’s going to happen with that defense
    3. BENGALS – They will also remain competitive but will take a step back
    4. BROWNS – They’re a mess

    AFC SOUTH

    1. COLTS – Ho, hum. Another division title.
    2. TEXANS * – They may finally capture their first playoff berth.
    3. TITANS – If VY’s head is straight, they will stay competitive.
    4. JAGUARS – I think I need a brakos facepalm for the Jags situation

    AFC WEST

    1. CHARGERS – They’ll be fine without L.T. However, they need McNeil and Jackson.
    2. RAIDERS – I think Campbell will be a good, steady influence on their offense.
    3. CHIEFS – 2011 is probably the year it would all come together for them.
    4. BRONCOS – They seem to be going backwards

    NFC EAST

    1. EAGLES – I like the new roster. They will be fun to watch.
    2. REDSKINS * – I’m not sure if I even believe this prediction but oh well
    3. COWBOYS – They will remain competitive but will take a step back and Wade will be gone
    4. GIANTS – I don’t agree with a lot of their personnel moves the last couple of years

    NFC NORTH

    1. PACKERS – I think the defense is going to gain some traction in it’s 2nd year
    2. VIKINGS – May miss playoffs in my opinion. High expectations sometimes implode
    3. BEARS – They will still struggle on offense
    4. LIONS – They aren’t as close as many are claiming

    NFC SOUTH

    1. SAINTS - Will repeat as division champs
    2. FALCONS * – I still have a lot of concerns about their defense though
    3. PANTHERS – Not expecting greatness from this group
    4. BUCCANEERS – Headed towards the #1 overall draft pick?

    NFC WEST

    1. 49ERS – Their offense will hold them back in the playoffs though
    2. CARDINALS – They will now be a running team
    3. SEAHAWKS – Major dysfunction going on in Seattle with the new regime
    4. RAMS – Will compete again for #1 draft pick

Playoff Picks (this is ludicrous to predict at this point but whatever)

as most of you know, i'm not big on predictions and don't put much credence into anyone's predictions because none of us can see the future but it's just kind of fun to think about possibilities.

surprised no one has mentioned the phins winning the east though .............. :icon_neutral:

Are probably way off, contradict previous predictions, and will change 29 more times.

  5. K Train

    K Train Do You Honeycutt?

i could see that offense being nasty wth marshall, camarillio, bess, and hartline, with that running game and a very young, stud defense

that dline is stacked with langford, merling, and odricks...then crowder and dansby at MLB and misi as a potential rusher and 2 stud corners with davis and smith both in their second years.

they need another rusher and a playmaking safety and this defense will be elite

OK, that's it, I am DONE with predictions. They're stupid. Anyone stupid enough to think they can actually predict something like this is crazy. Or desperate. For football. I just want the games to start. Even once the season is in week 9 no one knows what will happen. (no offense, i'm just ranting.) I HATE PREDICTIONS!!!!

Eagles winning the superbowl eh cant see it but would love it and i would tell everyone how awesome the eagles are and that every player is the best in the world at what they do.....kind of like i do to rookies during training camp when i go lol

Eagles won't win the Super Bowl. Maybe in 2012...but they won't get to celebrate because the world will end at that very moment...

Love all the positive cred the Phins are getting in this thread! I think they are an above average team, I'm not quite sure about the AFC Championship game, but heck I'd take it :icon_cheesygrin:

    AtlantaBlazer Knuckles The Echidna's Brother

    AFC NORTH
    1. Ravens - IMO this is really the only team that's made positive moves in this division. Cincy has made a couple, but not enough to keep their title.
    2. Cincy
    3. Steelers
    4. Browns

    AFC South
    1. Texans - They finally do it. I'd pick Tennessee but with Vince's looming suspension, it's going to knock them down a bit.
    2. Colts
    3. Titans
    4. Jags - Poor guys, if they were in a different division they would contend. They may come in last place in this division and be 8-8. Trade Garrard, let him go somewhere wiht a chance to win.

    AFC East
    1. Jets
    2. Dolphins
    3. Patriots - Won't be bad, but their dynasty is over
    4. Bills

    AFC West
    1. Chargers
    2. Raiders - Will be better, not great
    3. Broncos
    4. Chiefs

    1. Chargers
    2. Jets
    3. Ravens
    4. Texans
    5. Colts
    6. Titans

    NFC NORTH
    1. Vikings - With or without Favre, they're the winners of the division.
    2. Packers
    3. Bears
    4. Lions - moving forward, but they're still the Lions. 5 wins.

    SOUTH
    1. Saints - Won't be a domination of the division, but they'll squeak it out
    2. Falcons - Right behind them
    3. Buccaneers - Will be better than people are expecting, but not "good"
    4. Panthers - Though he's very loyal, something tells me Fox will end up pulling Moore due to pressure from teh fan base.

    EAST
    1. Cowboys - They're the best in this division during the regular season
    2. Giants - Losing Hixon blows, but I believe in Eli (to quote Deion)
    3. Redskins - They're going to need another year and some youth before this team can truly compete
    4. Eagles - Not going to be bad

    WEST
    1. 49ers - If they don't take it this year, scrap it and start again
    2. Cardinals
    3. Seahawks
    4. Rams

    1. Vikings
    2. Cowboys
    3. Saints
    4. 49ers
    5. Falcons
    6. Packers

i don't disagree. i just want football to start too ...........

    I don't disagree.

c'mon, man........... they're going all the way !!!

wow! the Texans all the way to division champs? no doubt they have the talent, i just don't know if i have confidence in Bush, Kubiak, or any of their running backs ............. if Bush has figured out how to coach an nfl defense, Kubiak has learned how to manage his players/chemistry, and one or more of their running backs steps up, runs consistently and learns how to hang onto the ball, then I could see it ....................

    Why not?

    AFC East

    1. DOLPHINS- Looking very solid
    2. JETS- I find it hard to believe they'll drop, Sanchez should be better
    3. PATS- The decline begins
    4. BILLS- lol

    AFC North

RAVENS- Not sure about their defense anymore, but the offense is great
STEELERS- They always compete, may or may not be enough
BENGALS- I saw holes in them last year (mostly on offense). They'll be exposed
    BROWNS- Not yet, Brownies

    AFC SOUTH

    COLTS- As always
    TEXANS- The next step, finally?
TITANS- Shame they're in a tough division
    JAGS- What?

    AFC WEST

CHARGERS- Until someone yanks it away, it's theirs
RAIDERS- A lot better without Russel, but still major question marks with the offense
CHIEFS- Very suspect defense, but offense should be improved
BRONCOS- They got lucky last year, they should be going down now

    NFC EAST

EAGLES- I loved seeing Kolb QB them for those 2 games, he should be good
COWBOYS- Can they keep it together and knock off the Eagles?
REDSKINS- I really have no clue with them
GIANTS- Warts shown last season, should continue

    NFC NORTH

VIKINGS- BRETT FAVRE BRETT FAVRE! WAIT HE'S RETIRING?! Lol, I' kid
PACKERS- They have a chance to take the division, but they need to beat the Viks
LIONS- Much improved, but not there yet
    BEARS- Cutler......no

    NFC SOUTH

SAINTS- They lost no one that I know of from last year, the beat goes on
FALCONS- Decent team, but not enough
PANTHERS- They'll beat up on the bucs for a few wins and avoid last
    BUCCANEERS- Top 5 pick

    NFC WEST

    49ERS- They'll win a bad division
CARDINALS- Time to find out if Leinart is the answer
SEAHAWKS- They'll either improve a ton or just be bad
    RAMS- #1 pick possibility again

Playoff Picks (this is ludicrous to predict at this point but whatever)

I just don't think the Eagles will be that good offensively. Kolb lacks experience. Besides, you can't lose players that are the caliber of McNabb and Westbrook and not have it affect the team in some way.
