The deal to send cornerback Asante Samuel to the Atlanta Falcons from the Philadelphia Eagles has been finalized, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. As part of the trade, Samuel and the Falcons have agreed to terms on a three-year, $18.5 million deal. It's not yet known what the Falcons will send the Eagles in return for the nine-year veteran.

Would be surprised if they received something higher than the Falcons 5th round pick.

Yep, will Robinson be the nickel back?

I'm thinking Grimes. That is where he has excelled in the past. He's listed as 5'10, but if he's 5'8 I would be shocked.

alright, that's a much more reasonable price for asante. now we will see what the falcons gave up before deciding if it was a good trade.

He's good at baiting qbs into thinking he's only 5'8.. until he leaves his feet.

Supposedly a 5th rd pick. Yeah, I'll give that up all day.

That's true. He makes some amazing INTs that look like they have no business being caught.

yep, if it's a 5th rounder, that's a good deal for the falcons.

Yea I figured it was a 5th or 6th, either is well worth it. Falcons about to have a ball-hawking defense.

Knowing the Eagles, it was probably a second rounder...lol.

looks like a good deal but buyer beware......he's 31 and coming off his worst season (10 PD, 3 INT) and Philly does a good job of cutting the cord on players 1 year before they run out of gas

I'll still take it for the price.

Hearing it was only a 6th.

yep, i just heard on the radio that it was a 6th. Couple that with the reduced salary and this is a good move by the falcons, especially considering they feel they are just a few players away. if the colts did this, it wouldn't make any sense.

I think the eagles wanted to get rid of him for more than monetary reasons. It did not work out with Asomugah, DRC, Samuel because none of them are nickel corners and only two can play on outside.
