49ers Agree To Trade QB Alex Smith To Chiefs

The San Francisco 49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports. The trade won't be official until March 12th.

The compensation is unclear but Glazer says the Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

Not sure. Waiting to hear more details on the radio. I was surprised to hear one second rounder and possibly as high as another. One second rounder is a lot for Smith...

 

Sad to see him go. Really liked Smith a lot. Pulling for him there in KC. But super happy we got a 2nd and potentially another next year for him. We have some serious ammunition to improve the team a great deal.

 

This might be one the worst trades since Roy Williams was traded to the Cowboys.
