It's incredible. Billy Bob's character is so great, and there are so many excellent performances by the other characters. Everyone talked about True Detective as the best new show of the year, but this blows the doors off of it.

I stayed away from GoT because I'm not really into fantasy. I decided to break down a couple of days ago to watch and make sure it wasn't for me.

Holy crap. I ducking love it. Just finished season one. The character depths and story lines are fantastic. I'm amazed that one person can write all of this.

I was the exact same way. I actually talked to a guy at work about how I didn't watch it because I don't like fantasy. He convinced me to finally watch it. I'm thankful because I was immediately addicted.

Really, it's not even a fantasy show. The fantasy element is there, but it's really just about the people.

I suggest trying to watch the episodes on demand if you can. The ones I had on demand each had a few minutes of interviews with the directors. That really had some awesome information and insight that helped me get even more into the show. I can't wait for it to come back on. It's the only reason I don't cancel hbo.

In no particular order, 24, Prison Break, and Lost.

BTW, the GoT books are GREAT!!!! But they are LONG!!!!!

They're only a couple minutes so you don't lose much time. I really liked them a lot. Obviously if you want to keep skipping them it won't hurt my feelings lol. They just he'll fill in some plot points and connect some dots.
