Curtis Martin - Career Statistics He's definitely got a good case. 14,000 career rushing yards. 5 time pro bowler. Lead the league in rushing once and top 3 three other times. I'm a big Curtis Martin fan, he wasn't a dynamic runner and I do wonder if the HOF voters will look at him as a complier rather than a difference maker (seems to have hurt Art Monk) but in my book, he was the hallmark of consistency for 11 years and always helped his team be competive. He belongs in the Hall for me.
This question is a moot point, being a total Curtis Martin fan, of course he's going to be in the HOF, he has had over 1000 yards for 10 straight years...he just went out there and did his job every Sunday...
Yeah, even though 1000 yards doesn't mean as much as it used to, 10 years in a row is damn impressive. He hasn't been spectacular, just plain solid every year.
Lots of busts would look good in lots of places... The thing that would have made Curtis Martin a sure-fire HOF would have been a ring. He got one chance with the Pats (f'ing Parcells...) and never got back there. Way to go Jets! Hell of a player and if the Hall is stats-heavy, he gets in first ballot, maybe second at the worst.
