k, vCash is our currrency here. You can't buy or sell it, you had to earn it. For every post you made, you earn some of it, depending on the numbers of your letters. With this vCash you can bet to events or shop something in the IShop. You can keep this items on your own, or donate it to an other member.

Here ya go, hope these help:

    Reputation System Explained from vBulletin.com
User Reputation in its simplest form is a ranking of your user's benefit to your forum. Its basis comes from the opinions of all of your forum users that choose take part in it.

Users gain and lose reputation based on how their posts are scored by other forum participants. Users with the ability to affect reputation, will either give or take aways points by approving or disapproving with a post's content.

User reputation can be a derisive element of your forum so great care should be taken before a decision is made to enable it.

All of the factors that affect a user's reputation score are found in the User Reputation section of the vBulletin Options. Please view that section of the manual for more information on controlling how users are able to affect another user's reputation.

vCash is virtual cash that has no monetary value and can be used on the site for various functions like:

    • Betting via the GridironFans.com Sportsbook
    • Purchasing items in the iStore
    • Donating vCash to other members for various things (losing a bet, paying for a sig pic, donating for the fun of it, etc.)

    You earn vCash by:
    • Posting
    • Winning Sportsbook events (you can also lose vCash this way too)
    • Donations from members

The iStore allows members to "purchase" items that can be displayed in their mini-profiles. You also can purchase items and donate them to members. People can do this for different reasons like: Birthdays, post milestones, promotions on the site, appreciation for a good post or thread, etc.

Overall they are nothing more than just fun add-ons for the members.

    Hope that helps!

btw, you can disregard the rep stats of a lot (maybe most) of the posters on here, as they frequent the "rep tramp" thread, giving out rep to any who ask, and recieving it in turn, making rep completely meaningless.

    *puts nose in the air*

I, however, am not one of those people.

What!?!?! It's true, all my rep is EARNED outside of the rep tramp thread. I have never once posted in there, you bunch of nasty rep tramps.

    ok, question about rep power:

does it look at your total post count, or does it simply go up with each post made AFTER the reputation system was put in place?

I'm guessing the latter, because my rep power pales in comparison to a few recently-registered spambots.

Not sure Yis but mine is always low but then, I don't post in the off-topic forums much and I would bet that is where a lot of it is handed out.

The green dots had nothing to do with the Rep Power. You earn Rep Power with being an active poster, while the dots are reputations you had received from other members.

I thought it was the opposite.

Rep Power from getting reputations from other members.
    Green Dots from posting.

    Here's another question:

What do the "Referrals" mean? Y'know kinda like if you click someones name, you see that on their Forum info, under the join date and such? Mine says 2 and it said 1 a couple days ago:confused:

yeah, like olly said. green dots are from what people give to you.

your rep power is how you affect others. I was just wondering whether it's calculated based on total posts. I don't think it is.

on another forum I occasionally post on, the rep power isn't shown, but it's a combo of total posts and join date. at least, that's what they said.

if someone registers for the forum, there's a box to enter a username if someone else referred you to the site. if someone registers and enters your username, you get a referral.

I guess that's what it is. SRW sould knew it.

no, that's definitely not the setup here.

that's how it is on another forum.

here, from the rep powers I see, I think you get one point of rep power for every certain amount of posts you make. but it's not looking at total post count. it's posts you make after the rep system was installed.
