    Top player in 2006

Laveranues Coles, WR Coles was one of a few Jets players to score six TDs in 2006, but he had the most yards (1,098) of any of them. It was Coles' best year in yardage and TDs since 2003.

    Top sleeper in 2006
Leon Washington, RB The Jets didn't settle on a single running back in 2006, and Washington did well at times when given the chance to carry the load. He scored four TDs and ran for 650 yards while catching for 270. Not bad for a later-round draft pick.

    Top flop in 2006
Justin McCareins, WR The Jets recently said they still believe McCareins has value for this team, which probably means they don't. He had a decent year in 2003, catching seven touchdown-passes in Tennessee. He's gotten worse each year since joining the Jets, catching only one in 2006.

    Top off-season additions
    # Draft: CB Darrelle Revis, LB David Harris , OT Jacob Bender and WR Chansi Stuckey

    # Free agency: RB Thomas Jones, FB Darian Barnes, QB Marques Tuiasosopo and OT Anthony Clement.

The Jets only had four picks in the 2007 draft, and the only one with a chance to make an impact (sans IDP leaguers) is a seventh-round wideout. Wide receiver is not a strong position on this team, but nonetheless, Stuckey may not even make the final roster.

After recovering from an ACL injury, David Harris turned into one of Michigan's biggest playmakers on a dominant defense in 2006. He had 295 career tackles, which includes 16 sacks. He could be an undrafted IDP sleeper in your league.

Thomas Jones is the marquee addition to this roster, whom they acquired in a trade with Chicago. Maybe this addition will give the backfield a bit of needed stability instead of the weekly shuffle. Jones has topped 1,200 rushing yards in each of his last two seasons and he could do it again if given enough carries.

    Top off-season losses
Running back Kevan Barlow's career has been about making the most of his chances; he never got many carries, but typically converted a high percentage of them into TDs. He didn't disappoint in 2006, scoring six of them while still staying a bit under the fantasy radar. He may make the Steelers as a backup.

Other than him, there isn't much to cry about outside of run-blocking fullback B.J. Askew. Darian Barnes should pick up that slack.

    Who will surprise in 2007?
Chad Pennington, QB For his sake, we can only hope. I'd be a lot more excited about this if the Jets did more to give him some new and improved targets. Pennington's 17 touchdown passes in 2006 were actually the most he's thrown for since 2002. But behind a more experienced and talented offensive line (specifically Nick Mangold and D'Brickashaw Ferguson), he could have more time to survey the field and cut down on the high interception total (16).

Umm when we kicked the raiders butt last season maybe?:icon_eek:

Or could it be Eric Mangini is better an all of the raiders staff put together?

Who didn't kick our butt last year. Bragging about beating us last year is pathetic. How beating the Raiders last year makes you relevant is beyond me. If it makes you sleep better at night though, then more power to you.

So wheres my "He dares to mess with TDJets?"

Anyways FREAK THE RAIDERS. The Jets have the real coach of the year, Eric Mangini. If it weren't for Katrina, Eric Mangini would have freaking won that award, not Sean Payton. We went from 4-12 to a playoff team. What have the raiders done since 2002? Absomotherfreakingluely NOTHING.

um. Weren't the Saints 3-13 and turned into a playoff team. So maybe it wasn't Katrina and it was the fact that Eric Mangini wasnt better then Sean Payton.

And are you serious? Seriously the Raiders have 2 SB Wins and 4 appearances. The last time the Jets were in the Superbowl was 1969. Longest Superbowl appearance drought in league right now. So again they are completely irrelevant.

We are in a tougher conference. The Saints wouldn't even get passed the WC in the AFC. The Jets would have reached the SB.

And keep living in the Past Raider fan. Raiders suck balls this year.

    Cletusaurus YES! YES! YES!

While I applaud your factual evidence... don't bother with this one. You'll honestly have better luck hitting yourself in the head with a brick than trying to get this guy to take off his homer glasses for even a minute.

All of our teams in the NFC South have reached at least the Championship game if not the Super Bowl in the last 5 years. How is that weak?
