Buccaneers FS Tanard Jackson's Future In Doubt?

  1. The NFL suspended Buccaneers FS Tanard Jackson indefinitely without pay for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, and Pro Football Weekly hears there is no guarantee he still will be with the team on Sept. 22, 2011, when his suspension is supposed to end. He was suspended for the first four games of last season for violating the same policy. Judgment is clearly an issue for Jackson, who is considered one of the finest young safeties in the league. Some observers have called him a Pro Bowl-caliber talent. "It's up to Tanard whether the team and our fans eventually realize his considerable promise," GM Mark Dominik said in a statement. The Bucs could decide to select a free safety early in next year's draft and part ways with Jackson, who will not become a free agent until after next season.
