A first-round pick out of Ohio State in '08, Vernon Gholston never has come close to living up to that billing in his three seasons with the Jets. The Jets have tried everything to light a fire under Gholston, including switching him from linebacker to defensive end in 2010. That didn't make any difference as Gholston still showed next to nothing on the field. The Jet thought so little of Gholston that they made him inactive for each of their three playoff games this season which spoke volumes about Gholston's status with the team. Don't be surprised if the Jets part ways with Gholston during the offseason.

yep, i think at this point, the most someone should expect from him is to be a back-up player .......... i suppose the light bulb could go on for him at some point but it shouldn't be expected.
