The Nnamdi Asomugha fever has picked up in several cities, but the anticipation in Philadelphia is high. Sources close to the Eagles think they will start investigating Asomugha once a new CBA is in place and could be willing to make him a big offer. It would put a lot of money into the CB position along with Asante Samuel, but the Eagles might be willing to make the move with a first-year coordinator in Juan Castillo and a lot of youth on that side of the ball.

Seriously though, it would be a huge blow to a borderline good, rising, defense. Losing Nnamdi would probably be the begin of it's demise.

While the Raiders have invested heavily in defensive lineman Richard Seymour over the next two years, they still left themselves room to compete to retain free-agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. While Asomugha figures to test the market, a return to Oakland shouldn’t be ruled out, as owner Al Davis doesn’t figure to lose his man without a fight. It helps that Oakland doesn’t have a big-money quarterback to account for.
