Raiders Take Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor In Third Round Of Supplemental Draft

Discussion in 'NFL Draft Discussion' started by BigBlueBruiser, Aug 22, 2011.

  1. The Raiders selected Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor in the third round of the NFL supplemental draft Monday, rolling the dice on a major talent whose NCAA violations helped lead to the dismissal of coach Jim Tressel and put the school on probation. The selection of Pryor means the Raiders will lose their third-round pick in the 2012 draft. Pryor was suspended for the first five games of the 2011 season by the NCAA for receiving cash for tattoos from a Columbus tattoo-parlor owner. The NFL ruled Pryor eligible for the supplemental draft, but essentially upheld the NCAA suspension and will not be placed on the Raiders' 53-man roster until Week 6. The Raiders were one of a reported 17 teams at a Pro Day workout for Pryor Saturday, and clocked him at 4.41 for the 40-yard dash _ essentially makes him the NFL's fastest quarterback with the possible exception of Michael Vick.

Once again, Al Davis uses his stop watch to gauge talent instead of analyzing what a guy can or can't do.

  14. Who says Davis was taking a lesser role? lol
