Wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey was taken off on a cart after taking a blow to the head in the end zone early in the fourth quarter of the Raiders’ game against the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday at O.co Coliseum. It was announced in the press box that Heyward-Bey had been knocked unconscious and was taken to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley with a neck injury. On first-and-10 from the 16-yard line, quarterback Carson Palmer attempted to hit Heyward-Bey on a post pattern, but the wide receiver took a helmet-to-facemask hit from cornerback Ryan Mundy with the ball falling incomplete. After the initial hit, Heyward-Bey fell to the ground hard with his helmet first - essentially taking a second blow. No penalty was called on the play. Source: Oakland Tribune
And no flag on the play. Can't wait to listen to Goodell talk about player safety and still refuse to pay the real refs. Sent from my LG-970h using Tapatalk 2

He's been released from the hospital, has a concussion and neck strain, expected to make a full recovery.
Why would it be more than Tate? I don't think Mindy is a repeat offender. You can fine the hit, but you can't fine the result of the hit...
As a defender you know not to lead with the helmet. Tate doesn't hit people like that for a living. Make an example of him to try and help ward off others. These small fines here and there don't mean crap. Just like Mays in Denver should get hit with a BIG fine.
