Saints outside linebacker Will Smith's 2013 season is officially over before it even began. The Saints placed the 10-year veteran on injured reserve, the team announced Tuesday. Receiver Joe Morgan, who tore his anterior cruciate ligament in training camp, also was placed on injured reserve. Smith injured his knee against the Houston Texans on Sunday on a play where teammate Cam Jordan sacked Matt Schaub. Smith was caught in the collision and limped off the field before heading to the locker room to be checked by trainers. Source: The Times Picayune
Sucks not to have Will Smith or Morgan this season, but it happens. I think the defense is greatly improved from last season. Hopefully Cam Jordan will continue to produce.
