Not much in the way of heavyweight matchups this week, but obviously a lot of important games based on the playoff picture.
We played the rams 11 months ago in the playoffs. It feels like it was 11 years ago. Funny how we could lose and it still wouldn't matter. As long as we beat both the Eagles and Redskins, we're in at 8-8. What a year to be alive...
We've all seen this before. A running QB like that is not sustainable. His own backup is one of the biggest examples of that. RGIII took the league by storm and 8 years later he's barely a backup. Kaepernick is out of the league (granted, for whole different reasons, but still), and Cam Newton is so banged up he'll need help to pee the rest of his life and he's not even 30. The Ravens window to win with Lamar is 2 or 3 years tops, before he starts declining. I'm not being a hater, it's just something we've seen happen time and time again...
That may be true, but he's really special. If he could have a career as long as Vick or Randall Cunningham....
Even Vick and Cunningham didn't have a consistent career. Both had a couple of huge years in their first teams, then declined (or were sent to prison), got cut, and had huge years again some place else after being backups for a while (That's what I think will happen to RGIII eventually. He'll start some place else in a few years and have an amazing year). Also, neither of them ever won a Super Bowl. Just sayin'...
Halftime of the Eagles game and I'm not sure if I'm more upset about the offense or defense. Well...definitely the defense since they don't have as many injured players...but this team is just not very good.
The table is set. NFC East Championship game next sunday at the Linc. Well, it is if the Cowboys win...there's still like 1% of hope if we lose, but nah...it basically is the division championship game. If the Cowboys play like they did yesterday, they can beat anyone, anywhere, any time. Too bad they usually have one or two performances like this in the Garrett era...
Listening to Philly sports radio this morning you would think the Eagles got killed yesterday. If this defense, particularly the pass rush, plays the same next week it will be ugly like the first match-up was.
And in the other side is the complete opposite. Cowboys fans everywhere already feel like division champions and are making plans for the 49ers game in Wild Card weekend. A good game will do that to you...that and Garret's record in Philly which is 7-2 or something...
