I have installed a modification on the site that could help this issue for the people who are not interested in Post Whoring... Opt-Out Forums from Get New/Get Daily To get to the option, follow this path: Extras (Forum Menu)/ User Control Panel/Edit Options/Miscellaneous Options (scroll to bottom) The forums and threads will still be marked when there are unread ones, thye just won't show up in searches and the new posts and today's posts search. I like this mod because it gives people the option of wanting to be part of the post tramp crowd or not wanting to be part of the post tramp crowd. I am trying to figure out how to make it so new members and existing members have some forums set as being ignored by default. They then can go and re-up with the forum(s) of their choice.
Just a note....you can also click on the icon next to a forum to clear out that forum and mark all the threads in there as read.

When you click "New Posts", it shows you the posts from all forums. What this does is allows you to remove posts from forums you don't visit/don't want to visit (ie. Ither Sports, Fight Club, Tournament Central etc.) from showing up under "New Posts". It's an awesome feature, but for a month I was wondering why no one ever posted in the Fight Club. :icon_lol:
