San Francisco defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has been a fan of Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco since Fangio was a Ravens assistant during Flacco's first two seasons, Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

"I remember his first (offseason training) sessions as a rookie, I said to (coach) John Harbaugh: 'You have your horse to ride for 10 years, at least.' I felt he could be a great quarterback in the league, and I still feel that way."

Flacco is 3-0 this postseason (8-4 in his career) with 284.3 yards per game, eight touchdowns, zero interceptions and a passer rating of 114.7.

"He's got a big arm," Fangio said." He throws the ball effortlessly. The game isn't too big for him. He's calm. He's confident. And he's capable of making all the throws."
