San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith was recognized as the NFC's top Week 8 performer. Smith set an NFL record for most passes in a game without more than one incompletion or interception by completing 18-of-19 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns in a 24-3 victory over the Arizona Cardinals to take home the offensive award.
