49ers vs. Falcons injury report: Mike Iupati, Vance McDonald still listed as limited

The 49ers and Falcons released their latest injury reports. We break down who was practicing, and who sat out the sessions.

The San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons released their first practice participation reports of the week. Due to Monday Night Football, the first full on-field practice session is Thursday instead of Wednesday. We'll have reports today, Friday and Saturday.

There are no real surprises in the report, and that is good news as far as I'm concerned. The team has fewer players appearing on the DNP list, and one is not injury related. Jonathan Goodwin is listed, but barring some kind of extended family emergency, he'll likely be practicing before the end of the week. Justin Smith is listed with a shoulder injury, but he likely is just getting his usual first day rest day.

Mario Manningham is listed as a DNP as he continues to deal with his knee. He also is listed as having an illness. Manningham was limited all last week, so I imagine the illness kept him off the practice field entirely on Thursday.

Mike Iupati and Vance McDonald are both listed as limited for Thursday. They were both limited all last week and ended up inactive. Jim Harbaugh said it was possible the team would have all four tight ends active for Sunday. Harbaugh had that tone to indicate he was hopeful, but sometimes I wonder if he is messing with the media by just repeating their words. Check it out HERE.

Full participation: S Thomas DeCoud (concussion)
