Everyone like a free souvenir from an NFL game, but two special fans got footballs that cost $10,500.

San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore and wide receiver Michael Crabtree both fined $10,500 for throwing footballs into the Candlestick crowd after scoring touchdowns in the 27-13 win over the Arizona Cardinals, which is a fan safety/crowd control issue.

Players are allowed to hand balls to fans on the edge of the action, but flinging them into the stands could cause a fight, so the league frowns on that.

Should be $20 fine for a new ball. These fines are outrageous.
