Eagles head coach Andy Reid confirmed on Monday that he wants quarterback Michael Vick back for the 2011 season, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane. Even after Vick's late-season struggles, this one should be filed under "obviously." If he doesn't sign a long-term extension this offseason, expect the Eagles to use their franchise tag on him. He's going to be franchised, no contract. I think the Eagles really haven't seen enough to warrant him a lucrative deal. This surely will piss Vick off.
He'll be franchised so we can guarantee he doesn't go anywhere. And when the CBA gets figured out, negotiations will begin. Scary to think what this team could be capable of with a better offensive line and some semblance of defense.
