The Chicago Bears have offered Carolina Panthers free-agent cornerback Captain Munnerlyn a one-year contract, according to a report in the Charlotte Observer. The newspaper states Carolina could attempt to match the offer. The 5-foot-8, 180-pound Munnerlyn started 11 games for the Panthers last season, recording 61 tackles and returning a pair of interceptions for touchdowns. Munnerlyn has 34 career starts since entering the league in 2009 as Carolina's seventh-round pick out of South Carolina.
