The Bears announced they have signed third-round draft pick Major Wright to a four-year deal, terms of the contract were not available. Wright, a safety from Florida, was their top choice in this year's draft in the third round (75th overall). As a sophomore in 2008 Wright started all 14 games at free safety recording 66 tackles and four interceptions, with one returned for a touchdown. He had nine tackles and an interception in the Gators win over the Oklahoma Sooners in the 2009 BCS National Championship Game. After his junior year Wright decided to forgo his senior season and enter the 2010 NFL Draft.

"Major Wright's four-year contract carries a total maximum value of $3.368 million..."

"One noteworthy shortcoming displayed by Harris was his problem catching the football. Said one observer of Harris: "The guy's got skillets for hands...."
