Brandon Marshall said Monday he had a hip “checkup†during his four-day break from football last week and that everything is good and now it is “go time.â€

The Chicago Bears wide receiver vented last week about where he was physically coming off arthroscopic hip surgery nearly eight months ago and wondered aloud about his role in the offense. A little time away seems to have put Marshall at ease as he prepares for the season opener Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals at Soldier Field.

“I’m always concerned about my body. It doesn’t matter if it’s a little scratch, I’m always concerned,†Marshall said. “So coming off my third hip surgery, structurally, everything is good. The joint is in amazing shape. So that’s exciting.â€

A week ago, Marshall spoke of his desire to be perfect and questioned where his conditioning was at. He has maintained all along that his joint is fine.
