The Cincinnati Bengals announced on Thursday that they've signed Cedric Peerman to a two-year deal, only days prior to his contract expiring on Monday.

"It's great to have Cedric's situation wrapped up; he's a smart and productive player who keeps getting better for us," said head coach Marvin Lewis. "And the guys we've tendered have also contributed to us reaching the playoffs each of the last two years. They are players we want to retain, and this (tender process) is a step in that direction."

Peerman, who was defined as a restricted free agent entering free agency this Monday, generated 258 yards rushing in 2012 on 36 carries, including 80 yards on two fake punts that led to first downs. Even excluding those runs, Peerman still averaged 5.2 yards per rush on the ground while also hauling in nine receptions for 85 yards receiving.

The Bengals also announced that they've extended one-year tenders to safety Jeromy Miles, linebacker Vincent Rey and wide receiver Andrew Hawkins, all of whom were either restricted or exclusive rights free agent.
