Teams don't seem to want to keep this dude. Is it because his skill set is too "gimmicky" that disrupts a flow, or is it something else about him?

Ok so what does this mean for fantasy owners? I own him but now will be starting Larry Fitz instead...

Has he ever stayed healthy for a full season?

The Seahawks made it to the Super Bowl without him last year, so maybe they don't need him and his 12M cap hit for next year. Sounds to me like they're making room for the impending Russell Wilson extension...

Yeah, it's pretty damning of what they felt Harvin's worth was despite what they gave up for him.

I Read on several sites that harvin was not the best teamate in the world and wore out his welcome in seattle.he played in the playoffs last year for the hawks, but he only played in 6 regular season games for them all together.

First of all it means you MUST BENCH HIM THIS WEEK! He'll miss a week of stats considering the Jets played on Thursday Night.

He was a locker room problem and read that he wasn't "Sehawk material."

For the woeful Jets, :BFD: if he's not your "ideal" locker room guy. That dude can perform on the field as long as he's migraine free. Seahawks are so loaded they may not miss him (certainly didn't last year), but the Jets just made a HUGE upgrade to a downfield threat.
Jets have/had the cap space ($22MM+) plus to take this on and the Seahawks had prior to this move $9,38M in cap space. Now that he gone The SeaChickens have approx. $7MM dead money against the cap, but this move had the cap room to move him. What else did the Jets have to cough up to get Harvin? mid-rounder next year depending on Harvin's ouput in Green and White? Whatever it turns out to be, IMO is was worth it as long as Harvin keeps his head screwed on right and tries to avoid the NY media like the plague. Good luck with that.

One source told The Times the Seahawks had decided Harvin, 26, “just wasn’t a fit” with the rest of the team and the trade had as much to do with what was happening in the locker room as it did Harvin’s production on the field. The team, a source said, was “just ready to move on” from Harvin despite his obvious on-field gifts.

Sources also said a few incidents in recent months helped set the stage for Friday’s stunning trade.

One source confirmed a report that Harvin had gotten into an altercation with former Seahawk Golden Tate before the Super Bowl that resulted in Tate getting a black eye.

A source also said Harvin had an altercation with Seattle receiver Doug Baldwin in the week leading up to the final exhibition game this August at Oakland that resulted in Baldwin getting a cut on his chin and each player being excused from practices that week. Harvin, who did not practice for two days before that game, did not make the trip to Oakland for what the team said at the time was “a personal matter.”

Wonder how much of a cap hit they'll have to take?

Their next challenge will be to re-sign Wilson. Wonder how much they'll have to pony up?

Got in fights with Baldwin and Tate while Tate was a Seahawk. Not good or smart, Percy. Go buy you some winter clothes.

That contract included $25.5 million in guaranteed money and the Seahawks have paid him roughly $18.3 million, including salary and bonuses. However, the team will save roughly $6.4 million this year in 2014 salary that the Jets will now pick up. The Seahawks can now forward that savings to their 2015 cap if they don’t use it this year.

The Seahawks will also save another $5.7 million in 2015 cap space.

Wonder how much money it will take to sign him up long-term?

So will Rex be able to allow Harvin to produce with Smith? Guess time will tell.

With Harvin's mental "instability", I'll bet the first one to try to take him under his wing will be Vick.

Sounds like the best the Seahawks can get is a 4th-Round Pick for Harvin.

Harvin has always been grossly overrated. The Seahawks trading for him was worse then the Roy Williams trade IMO
