Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times reports that the Buccaneers have signed quarterback Jonathan Crompton to a three-year deal. Crompton is most likely being brought in as a camp armbehind Josh Freeman, Josh Johnson, and third-stringer Rudy Carpenter who the team is reportedly high on. Crompton was a fifth-round pick by the New England Patriots and was considered a hot commodity after a huge senior year at Tennessee. His stock has fallen since then as two quality organizations (the Patriots and the San Diego Chargers) have given up on him. Source: theredzone.org
