The Chargers decision to re-sign DE Luis Castillo, most likely, has more to do with adding depth to their defensive line than filling one of their starting defensive end positions. Sources have told Pro Football Weekly that Vaughn Martin figures to have the advantage heading into training camp. San Diego was reportedly “pleasedâ€￾ with his performance following the injury to Castillo last season. Pro Football Focus rated Martin as the second-worst 3-4 DE last season. There’s no question that San Diego would be wise to address with defensive front-seven in the upcoming draft and finding another pass rusher could really go a long way next season.

i think castillo was a little surprised that no other teams viewed him as a starter anymore either ............... that's why he has just gone back to the chargers. he must figure if he's just going to be a rotational guy making $1 or $2 mill this season, he might as well just stay with the chargers.
