As expected, Chargers fifth-round pick Johnnie Troutman will begin the season on the Physcially Unable to Perform list as he recovers from pectoral surgery. Troutman could be activated after the season's sixth game, and the Chargers believe he will be physically able to play in 2012. "He's a hard worker," Norv Turner said. "He's done a lot of conditioning." But the team also hopes Troutman will sit his rookie season, because if he's playing it's due to injuries or severe performance issues on the offensive line. Troutman, a guard, was injured while bench pressing in training leading up to draft and had surgery a few days prior to the draft. The Chargers drafted him with the intention of having to wait a year to receive his services.
