The Indianapolis Star reports that the Colts have taken steps to retain RB Joseph Addai for 2011 by issuing a one-year tender as a restricted free agent. Addai, a 2006 first-round draft pick, has led the Colts in rushing in four of his five seasons. If the restricted tenders hold, Addai will be able to sign an offer sheet with another team once that is permitted by the NFL. The Colts would have the right to match the offer or, in Addai's case, receive a first-round draft pick as compensation. Addai finished 2010 with 116 carries for 495 yards (4.3 yards per carry) and four touchdowns and 19 catches for 124 yards and a fumble in eight games.
