There is a need for running back depth on the Minnesota Vikings’ roster right now with the departure of Toby Gerhart. There is one free agent that could come in and take over the backup role if it meant a decrease in playing time and money. That player would be Maurice Jones-Drew. Obviously, he would […]

No. Do they really want to kill all value for RB in fantasy leagues???

Vikes do have a need. We'll see if the Steelers beat them to the punch. MJD staying overnight in Pittsburgh and will meet with Steelers brass again on Thurs. Discussions must be heating up. It's very rare that the Steelers keep players in town this long unless negotiations are becoming serious.

In all seriousness, the Steelers are a better fit. They need the veteran much more than Vikes

Thanks for the comments. Jones-Drew would hurt the value of Peterson and himself in fantasy, true. Just saw a need as a backup in Minnesota. Likely won't happen but throwing it out there as something the team could consider.

MJD left Pitt w/o a contract...We'll see where he heads next.

There has been a lot of discussion about the Vikings need for a backup to AP since Toby departed. While I thought the Vikes may take a shot at Sproles, and MJD is a possibility, people seem to be forgetting about a guy that is already in Minny.Zach Line was a rookie that came in last year and looked good in pre season before getting injured. He has excellent hands and is more of an outside runner who could really shine in a Norv Turner scheme. He's a guy that is in the shadows now,but don't be surprised to see him given plenty of opportunity in the new Viking offence.
