Dolphins Begin "Preliminary" Talks With LB Cameron Wake About A New Deal

  1. Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports that the Dolphins have begun "preliminary" talks with linebacker Cameron Wake about a contract extension. Wake busted out for 14 sacks, three forced fumbles, and 57 tackles (48 solo) in 2010. Wake is scheduled to make just $480,000 in 2011. The 29-year-old entered the season planning to ask Miami for a new contract if he hit double-digit sacks, and he proceeded to emerge as one of the most feared pass rushers in football. Wake is currently signed through 2012.
