Dolphins free agent QB Tyler Thigpen, 27, just wants a chance to start in the NFL, and has been frustrated that he hasn’t gotten that chance in two years in Miami. But Thigpen, likely an unrestricted free agent after the lockout ends, hasn’t closed the door on Miami, either. “He would love to come back to Miami,â€￾ his agent, Joel Turner, said Tuesday morning. “He feels comfortable there and wants to compete for the starting job.â€￾ That chance may be tough for him to get in Miami, though, particularly because of the lockout. With the Dolphins missing all of OTAs and mini-camps to learn the new offense, and getting just two weeks of prep time before the first preseason game, Chad Henne certainly has a major advantage in winning the starting job, over Thigpen or anyone else the team signs.
