  1. The Dolphins wasted little time finding a replacement for Chad Pennington, signing former Redskins first-round pick Patrick Ramsey to a contract late Monday night after bringing him in for a workout earlier in the day, the team announced. Ramsey, a 2002 first-round pick, has 35 touchdowns and 30 interceptions over eight NFL seasons, and provides the Dolphins with a veteran presence should Tyler Thigpen go down. Ramsey, 31, has played for six teams since 2006. He was cut by the Saints at the end of training camp this year, and was a backup with the Jaguars for the first two months of the season. Pennington was placed on Injured Reserve after suffering an injury to his right shoulder in Sunday’s 29-17 win over Tennessee.
