The Eagles reached agreement with quarterback Jeff Garcia, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday. Garcia, a 10-year veteran, played for Philadelphia in 2006 and went 5-1 in six starts in relief of an injured McNabb. McNabb, who once played four quarters on a broken ankle, doesn't feel like the rib will keep him out. "He's pretty sore," coach Andy Reid said Monday. "He's going to try and battle through it. He'll struggle to practice. He's going to do everything he possibly can to try to play. We'll see how that goes. He's staying optimistic about that."

I doubt it. Why would they? They have to release a player once Vick is taken off of the exempt list.

so who do they release then. I dont think the organization would do that to Garcia since he has played for them in the past also. Kolb is to good to just flat out release they could get a pick for him. So if they arent gonna keep 4 qbs who will be odd man out

Kolb will start this week. Garcia will back him up. Let us not forget, this old butt is just about due for an AARP membership. He could do some wow-ing in practice, but I'm sure this is a just-in-case move and Garcia will likely be gone once McNabb is back on the field.

Unfortunately I think they will release Garcia. I don't think he is going to want to be 3rd on the depth chart and it would open the opportunity for another playoff team to grab him up as a Veteran back-up or if need be a starter for an injured QB.

I agree with those who state Kolb will start this week. Even though Garcia is familiar with the offense, Kolb has had the time to practice with the current roster and that should go a long way as to who starts
