The Atlanta Falcons have signed a running back. No, it’s not the type of big name you were hoping for (although that could come in free agency or the draft). The Falcons just announced they have signed restricted free agent Antone Smith to a two-year contract. But don’t look for the commitment to Smith to suddenly make him into a factor in the backfield. He has one career carry (that was in 2010), but has made his living by being a regular on special teams.
