Five Cowboys weren’t seen at practice Thursday morning at Valley Ranch, including Pro Bowl nose tackle Jay Ratliff who didn’t practice Wednesday and missed his fifth game of the season last week, this time with a groin injury.

Also not seen on the practice field Thursday: center Phil Costa (ankle), cornerback Orlando Scandrick (broken left hand), defensive tackle Ben Bass (ankle) and safety Charlie Peprah, who had recently been getting over a concussion.

Running back Felix Jones was in uniform and had both his knees wrapped as he walked onto the practice field but he didn’t practice Wednesday.

Starting running back DeMarco Murray was in uniform and wearing cleats for practice as he walked onto the field. However, Murray cut his stretching session short and walked back to the locker room alongside an athletic trainer and didn’t come back onto the field during the portion of practice that the media was allowed to observe.
