    Ticats

The Hamilton Tigercats introduce Ed O'Neil as their new DC. This leaves a big hole in the coaching staf of the Frankfurt Galaxy.

And the Galaxy had find a successor for him. The new DC ist Steve Carson. He had some NFLE coaching experiene as d-backs coach for the Rhein Fire and DC for Berlin Thunder.

UNCP assistant bolts for job in NFL Europe

PEMBROKE - The University of North Carolina at Pembroke football team is still months away from taking its first snap, but head coach Pete Shinnick is already having to replace a key member of his coaching staff.

Steve Carson, the Braves' defensive coordinator, is leaving to take the same position with the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe, Shinnick announced on Monday. The search for a new coordinator will begin immediately, but a new coach isn't expected to join the staff until after spring practice completes on April 20, Shinnick said.

Carson was the first coach to join Shinnick's staff after he took over the program in December of 2005.

Obviously we are very disappointed to see Steve leave, Shinnick said in a press release. But we are just as excited to see him get an opportunity on the coaching staff of a professional team.

Carson's departure now leaves two vacancies on the UNCP coaching staff. The Braves are also looking for a running backs coach.
