31-year-old center David Baas underwent surgery to remove bone spurs from his elbow earlier this week, Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports. According to a source familiar with Baas’ situation, the procedure likely means he’ll be relegating to rehabbing throughout the Giants’ offseason program, and will probably be a bystander at the team’s veteran mini-camp in June, too.

But despite what one team source said was the “multiple†surgeries Baas has endured since the end of the 2012 season, he is expected to be ready to be a full participant when training camp opens in late July.

The Giants never disclosed the location “on his body†where Baas’ previous surgeries were. He did play in all 16 games last season, but at various times was known to be nursing injuries to his ankle, hip, shoulder, elbow and hand.
