Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell said Friday that running back Maurice Jones-Drew will not be traded and that his contract will be assessed after the season, reports ProFootballtalk.com. Jones-Drew held out the entire 2012 preseason hoping for a new contract and did not report to the team until September. Jones-Drew is scheduled to make $4.95 million in 2013, the final season of a five-year, $31 million contract. He suffered a left foot injury in October and rushed for 414 yards and one score before being placed on injured reserve in December as the team suffered through a 2-14 record. He had surgery a few days later and is expected to be ready for the start of the 2013 season. “I’m feeling good,†Jones-Drew said, according to NFL.com. “Just have been rehabbing every day and getting used to the offseason program.
