Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell said Friday that running back Maurice Jones-Drew will not be traded and that his contract will be assessed after the season, reports ProFootballtalk.com.

Jones-Drew held out the entire 2012 preseason hoping for a new contract and did not report to the team until September.

Jones-Drew is scheduled to make $4.95 million in 2013, the final season of a five-year, $31 million contract.

He suffered a left foot injury in October and rushed for 414 yards and one score before being placed on injured reserve in December as the team suffered through a 2-14 record. He had surgery a few days later and is expected to be ready for the start of the 2013 season.

“I’m feeling good,â€￾ Jones-Drew said, according to NFL.com. “Just have been rehabbing every day and getting used to the offseason program. I’ll be back at full speed by probably the end of May, beginning of June.â€￾
