The Jacksonville Jaguars will interview current defensive coordinator Mel Tucker for their vacant head coaching position, according to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN. Tucker was the Jaguars interim head coach for five games when Jack Del Rio was fired towards the end of the 2011 season and interviewed for the head coaching job last season. Tucker has been the defensive coordinator for the Jaguars since 2009, with mixed results, but hasn't had a lot of talent to work with. He has also drawn interest from other teams for head coaching gigs and defensive coordinator positions, including interviewing for the Wisconsin Badgers head coaching position a few weeks ago. Tucker would fulfill the Rooney Rule for the Jaguars, but it's widely believed that he doesn't have a legitimate shot at getting the Jaguars head coaching job, as it sounds as if new Jaguars general manager David Caldwell is going to try to start everything fresh with the franchise.
