The New York Jets may bring wide receiver Braylon Edwards back into the fold, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports. According to Mehta, Edwards' down-field threat and blocking ability would be good fits in Tony Sparano's offense. Acquired from the Cleveland Browns during the 2009 season, Edwards caught 88 passes for 1,445 yards and 11 touchdowns in 28 games (26 starts) for Gang Green before he was allowed to leave via free agency after the lockout. Edwards' string of off-field events, including a DUI arrest in September of 2010, led to him signing a one-year, $1.6 million contract that included $1.917 million in incentives with the San Francisco 49ers. Edwards underwent knee surgery during the season, caught just 15 passes for 181 yards and zero touchdowns in nine games, and was released before the final week of the regular season.
