New York Jets left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson has restructured his contract, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports. Ferguson was scheduled to earn $9.985 million in guaranteed base salary with an $11.651 million cap number in 2012. According to Mehta, Ferguson agreed to lower his base salary to $985,000, with the remaining $9 million converted to a signing bonus and prorated over the next five seasons. Ferguson's restructure clears $7.2 million of space under the cap. The Jets had less than $2 million of cap space prior to reworking Ferguson's contract. Source: Mac's Football Blog
