New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis was asked who was making an impression regarding leadership in the locker room, and the All-Pro defender pointed to Demario Davis. It's not unusual that a linebacker might take a lead role on a defense, but what makes this unique is that Davis is a rookie, and not only a rookie, but a third-round pick. But, according to the New York Post, Revis says Davis exemplifies leadership even early in his Jets tenure. “He’s vocal," Revis said. “You don’t frown on that. You accept that. He still has a lot of things to learn. But just to have those leadership qualities, you can tell where he came from. You can tell he was a leader in college.†Davis, who played at Arkansas State, has already worked his way into a role on the Jets defense, and has impressed Coach Rex Ryan, who early on compared him to Ray Lewis with his vocal style of leadership. "I have not been disappointed one bit,†Ryan said. “This is what you get. He’s the first guy on the practice field, the last guy to leave. He’s bright-eyed, he can’t wait, can’t wait to get in the classroom, can’t wait to get on the field, be with his teammates. I think that’s why you’re going to see this young man have a long career. There’s no doubt.â€
