Linebacker Justin Durant, who led the Lions with 82 solo tackles this season, wants to return to Detroit. He just isn't sure where free agency will lead him.

"I want to sign," Durant said. "Am I sure? No. I don't know exactly what's going to happen. Free agency is a different type of process. You never know what's going to happen. I'm definitely just anxious to see.

"Hopefully we get something worked out to where I'm back in Detroit. I love the city, I love the fans, love playing there."

Durant signed a two-year, $5.5-million deal with the Lions in 2011. But the lockout shortened free agency that year and didn't give Durant a fair bite of the apple.

"I guess I just have to be open because I don't know exactly what's going to happen with Detroit," Durant said of weighing his options in free agency, which begins in March. "So I have no choice but to look at it."
