Vikings coach Leslie Frazier says he is hopeful he will have defensive tackle Kevin Williams back from a knee injury in time for the season opener at Detroit. Williams was injured on a low block in a game against San Francisco on Sunday night. The team says Williams has a significantly bruised and hyperextended right knee. Frazier says Williams is listed as day to day and the team will monitor his progress as the opener against the Lions on Sept. 8 approaches. Frazier says he has spoken to NFL officials about the hit by Joe Looney. Source: Associated Press
