The Detroit Lions claimed former Dallas Cowboys guard/center Bill Nagy off waivers and placed cornerback Drew Coleman on injured reserve Thursday. Nagy, 24, was released by the Cowboys earlier in the week and underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a high left ankle sprain, which he suffered during training camp. A seventh-round draft pick out of Wisconsin in 2011, Nagy appeared in four games with Dallas last season before a broken left ankle ended his rookie campaign. Coleman, who was signed by the Lions in late July, recently suffered a concussion in practice. The 29-year-old appeared in all 16 games -- four starts -- with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season, tallying 46 tackles and two interceptions.
