DeAndre Levy finally signed the new three-year deal with the Detroit Lions that he agreed to last week on today. Levy, who would have been an unrestricted free agent without a new contract, got a $3-million signing bonus on a deal worth a maximum of $9.75 million. He counts $2 million against the salary cap this year. The Lions are less than $2 million under the cap and will have to finalize the restructures on some contracts before they add any significant free agents. Levy was having the best season of his four-year career at the start of last year before he suffered an October groin injury that knocked him out of two games. Source: Detroit Free Press
