Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said 85 to 90 percent of his team is participating in voluntary offseason workouts, but Jahvid Best is not in that group. Best is not participating in voluntary workouts, which began this week, and Mayhew would not say if he anticipates his running back to partake in any team activities this offseason. The former first-round pick is still on Detroit's roster. It appears unlikely - at this moment - that Best will play football again.
